Central Reinsurance Corporation is the only domestic reinsurance company in Taiwan undertaking non-life and life reinsurance businesses from domestic and overseas markets.

Central Re was established by the Ministry of Finance (MOF) on October 31, 1968 with the mission to promote the sound development and sustainable growth of the local insurance industry. Central Re completed its privatization process on July 11, 2002. Evergreen Group, the well-known transportation conglomerate becomes the largest shareholder and the Ministry of Finance is the second-largest shareholder.

Looking forward, the management team will base on the company’s motto of "Challenge, Innovation and Teamwork" to cultivate business prudently and seek opportunities internationally, aiming to become the best reinsurance company in Asia.

Fubon Insurance has led the non-life insurance sector for the 38th consecutive year, strong results reflecting sound underwriting practices, judicious investment strategies and robust risk management. The business also grew fundamentally stronger through group cross-selling and channel diversification strategies, sales-structure optimization and balanced development.

Fubon Insurance stepped up its development of innovative technologies and digital applications to deliver more convenient services to customers. The company partnered with the aviation sector to create an automatic, paperless system for trip delay insurance claims, and telematics were used to support new “usage-based insurance” for motorists that offered incentives to drive less and reduce emissions. Customer “stickiness” was further strengthened through customized products informed by big data analytics.

On the commercial side, Fubon Insurance launched a smart marketing app for sales agents to help small business get the protection most suitable for them, and it partnered with information security consultants to introduce full-process services to strengthen local businesses’ information security risk management. A green energy insurance team was created to support the sustainable development of clean energy domestically, and Fubon Insurance now insures more than a third of solar energy projects and more than half of all onshore wind turbines in Taiwan.

Fubon Insurance has long been committed to enhancing the ability of companies and society to manage risk. It supports businesses by holding regular loss prevention seminars and providing industry-leading risk management services founded on risk assessment matrices developed in house. Microinsurance for low-income families and agricultural insurance are among its socially oriented products. Extending protections for farmers beyond government disaster assistance and strengthening their social safety net.

Cathay Century Insurance was established in 1993 and became a member of Cathay Financial Holdings in 2002. By leveraging group resources and providing customers with a full range of financial services, we have secured our position as the second largest non-life insurer in Taiwan since 2007. We are also focused on expanding our business into foreign markets and established Cathay Insurance (China) and Cathay Insurance (Vietnam) in 2008 and 2010, respectively. In 2015, Cathay Insurance (China) increased its capital by cooperating with Ant Financial Services Group, an affiliate company of the Alibaba Group, in the development of e-commerce financial services. In keeping with the tenets of “equal emphasis on quality and quantity, steadfast and dependable” management, Cathay Century delivered outstanding business performance that was not only rated as “twAA+” by Taiwan Ratings, “A-” by S&P, and “A2” by Moody's, but furthermore enabled us to win numerous domestic awards, including the Insurance Excellence Award, Trusted Brand Award, and Insurance Dragon and Phoenix Award, among others. We also received many internationally acclaimed honors, including the International Business Premium Award and the Asia-Pacific Stevie Award. We were also named the “Best Non-life Insurance Company in Taiwan” by renowned British finance publication World Finance. These achievements are the best testament to our recognition by the people in Taiwan as the most recommended non-life insurer, and our success as a first-rate non-life insurer in Asia.

 ▍About Taiwan / Mountains

Taiwan's mountains are attracting the attention of hikers from all over the world for their height, which rivals the Alps and the Rocky Mountains.

【Wuling】

At a altitude of 3275 meters, Wuling is to the north of Kunyang and is the highest spot of Taroko. Except to the west, there is a clear view of the surrounding mountains. The platform on the east side provides the most suitable place to view the scenery. The mountain landscape varies. It is the highest point on any Taiwan highway.

Hehuanshan National Forest Recreation Area

Mt. Hehuan, despite its altitude of more than 3,000 meters, has a road

that goes right across it, making access very convenient.

It is the best place to see snow in the tropics, and escape from

the summer heat. In as little as one day, you can travel the highest road

in East Asia, and take the many hiking paths that lead off the main road.

These are usually short and always safe. Mt. Hehuan, Taiwan's "tourist mountain," rivals the island's other high peaks in scenery and atmosphere, yet it is easily reachable by car or on foot.
